Elder of the Tema Traditional Council, Nii Armah Somponu, has advised parents
to take education of their girl child seriously so that they become responsible
citizens in future.

Armah Somponu, Nii Shipii (elder) of the Tema Traditional Council made the
statement when the Tema West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mrs Adwoa Amoako,
led some staff of the assembly to make a presentation to the Tema Traditional
Council toward the Kplejoo festival celebrated by the people of Tema and
items presented included cartons of bottled water, schnapps, assorted alcoholic
and non alcoholic drinks and undisclosed cash.
Elder said the council was impressed to see Mrs Amoako as the first female to
be appointed as Chief Executive in the municipality and also in Tema.
parents should be motivated by the rise of Mrs Amoako to invest in their
daughters and called on young ladies in Tema to see her as a figure worh
Armah Somponu also commended the assembly for contributing towards the festival
to make it a success.
Amoako in response, expressed appreciation to the Tema Traditional Council for
supporting the assembly which was in its infancy and assured that she would
work harder to justify the trust reposed in her.
Mantse. Nii Adjei Kraku II, received the
items on behalf of the traditional body and thanked the MCE for the gesture.
